I have lived in the Fylde since 1964. I was married in 1967, settling in Wesham, where my wife and I brought up our 3 children.
I became interested in the local community and for over 35 years, I served on Medlar with Wesham Town Council. Over the years I have played active parts in the local schools, such as Governors and PTAs.
My working career centred around telecommunications, and after 40 years’ service with the Radiocommunications Agency, I retired in 2004.
In 2011, I stood for election as a Fylde Borough Councillor and was elected to serve Medlar with Wesham.
Since retiring, in addition to my Borough work, I am the Treasurer of Christ Church Wesham.
My hobbies include motorcycling, classic car renovation and caravan holidays.
I am honoured to have been asked by Councillor Ben Aitken to act as his Deputy Mayor and I wish him and his Mayoress a very successful and enjoyable year.
I am particularly pleased that Cllr Aitken has chosen Trinity Hospice as one of his charities. Trinity Hospice is dear to my heart for the kindness, comfort and treatment given to my wife during her battle with cancer. Sadly, she lost the battle in 2019 but I am forever grateful for the work of Trinity Hospice.
